PODCAST EPISODE 17: Empowering Educators through Collaboration with Chelsie de Bomford
EPISODE 17: Empowering Educators through Collaboration with Chelsie de Bomford
Chelsie de Bomford is a proud Early Childhood Educator. She has over 20 years’ experience teaching in Vocational Education & Training and runs her own business: “Nest Early Childhood Consultancy” offering Professional Learning in services across the state of Tasmania, Australia. She is hugely influenced by her love of Nature Pedagogy and inspired by the Italian Reggio Emilia Approach to education which views all children as curious, capable citizens in the present. She has presented at state and national levels, and has travelled internationally to the UK and Italy to learn about different approaches to education. Chelsie is involved in many networking groups who have a commitment to searching for ‘what is possible’ in education in Tasmania. She is also a proud parent of three beautiful children who daily surprise her, bring joy and of course challenges her thinking and wondering about how children learn.
I always feel very calm but motivated when I chat with Chelsie - and even if you don’t work with children I think this episode will leave you feeling in a similar way!
Key points from this episode include:
- Collaboration is always more beneficial than competition
- Creating time and space for reflection is necessary for connection with self and other
